Neuroscience reveals the shocking impact narcissistic abuse has on the brain
Can Ugly Guys Attract Women? Can an ugly guy attract women? The guy has to be less than five feet tall. Women have a host reasons for sleeping with and marrying guys besides attraction.
Our reptilian brain is still doing what it does best, giving us humans what it feels is the best chance to survive! It doesn’t know we’re up in outer space. It doesn’t know how far we’ve come technologically, culturally, politically, economically.
Neuroscience reveals the shocking impact narcissistic abuse has on the brain By – November 17, Narcissistic abuse is one of the worse types of psychological abuse that one person can do to another, but unfortunately, many people are stuck in these types of relationships. Because according to recent studies, neuroscientists have discovered that long-term narcissistic abuse can lead to actual physical brain damage.
This is why anyone in a destructive relationship with a partner who cares little for the emotional well-being of their family should leave immediately, especially when children are involved. However, some people do not take this warning too seriously, because of its emotional basis. What many fail to realize is that emotional and psychological distress is only one side of the coin that victims of long-term narcissistic abuse experience. There is also a physical aspect of brain damage involved—when suffering consistent emotional abuse, victims experience a shrinking of the hippocampus and a swelling of the amygdala; both of these circumstances lead to devastating effects.
The hippocampus is crucial in learning and developing memories, while the amygdala is where negative emotions like shame, guilt, fear, and envy come to life. One of the most important functions the hippocampus is responsible for is our short-term memory, which is the first step to learning. Information is first stored in short-term memory before it can be converted to permanent memory.
Without short-term memory, there can be no learning. And damage to the hippocampus is a lot more disturbing than scientists initially thought.

March 1, By B. She related an interesting anecdote. She handed it to him, and the man scribbled a sentence on the other side of the cardboard. The woman, nonplussed, shrugged and took her new sign to the curb and parked herself. The man, of more than modest means, refused her offer, and told her to keep her money, and the new message. What was wrong with its messaging?
In the reptilian brain, actions are fast. There is no time to do a careful analysis of facts because that hungry T-rex or nasty neanderthal is rambling up the hillside. This explains why a guy on a dating site will prefer to post photos of himself and search by photos rather than write interesting descriptions.
You — the battle of your life This blog is about the most important person in your life: What we can and what we do here is giving you an overview, how you can work on yourself and also show you how you can use your different parts for your own good. The first step to win the battle against yourself starts with the understanding why we have those parts in us. Why do you have this parts? In fact they both have an important evolutionary reason to be in us.
The reptilian brain job is to get your basic functions to survive. The best visualisation for the reptilian brain is a Labrador. Our brain has the ability to keep us away from risks and danger.
Common in numerous mythologies are tales of reptilian creatures usually not humanoid who are hostile to human beings. Also rather common are the myths of ” Serpents of Wisdom ” who enlightened humanity before the dawn of civilization; but it has been noted by mythologists that here “serpent” may only have been used to symbolize strangeness.
The Cherokee and other Native American peoples also refer to Reptilian races. In pre-columbian mythology from Colombia , Bachue the primordial woman transformed into a big snake.
The prefrontal cortex is the part of the brain that dictates the logic (and conscience) we use when deciding on the best course of action in any situation – however the reptilian part of our brain that influences our basic survival instincts including our “urge to merge” can sometimes overrule the perceived reward we’ll experience when it comes.
Body-shapes are ‘down to limbless, headless fish-like creature’ The discovery has come from a study of brain evolution conducted at the University of Bristol. In the more primitive past, quick thinking could have meant escaping a wild animal or dodging a speak; today it might mean swerving to avoid a head-on car crash. It has been thought for some years that mammals have two decision-making systems in their brains which operate at different speeds to cope with different situations.
New research from Bristol supports this theory and has added a twist by showing that we rely on older brain centres that evolved more than million years ago to be quicker-witted when there is danger. The evolutionary pressures kept the older, faster, but less accurate, part of the brain we inherited from the reptiles for emergencies, while shaping the more recent development of the slower-acting but more precise cortex, the rind of the brain that gives humans language and reasoning.
The results of modelling by Mr Trimmer and his colleagues showed that when the threat level is high, such as the risk of being attacked by a dangerous animal, it is very useful to have the fast-acting, if inaccurate, system. This may have led to the rapid development of the cortex in mammals.
Less Doofus But something was still missing. My first actual relationship of two months I was sweet and affectionate and wanted to be around her all the time, but that blew up in my face. She said I was “smothering” her and dumped me. I thought it was all about being attractive, so why couldn’t I maintain her interest? I then tried being a jerk to new prospects and I couldn’t believe how well it worked!
The Reptilian Brain is responsible for the “Fight or Flight” response which is generally based on fear-evoking actions. This is what the mainstream media news targets every time you watch those talking propaganda heads. Reptilians would appear to be very paranoid and skeptical as this is the brain they trust the most. 2. Lower Than Average.
How do you know if you are in someones will? You don’t unless they tell you. There is no requirement for them to tell you. When the will is brought to probate after the testator’s death, the court requires that all beneficiaries of the will be notified. Until then, you simply don’t know. Can you know that someone is your soulmate but he does not know it yet?
Answer Yes, anything is possible. Generally though, when two peoplemeet they feel as if they’ve known each other forever labeled as: Women seem to be more tuned in to these sorts offeelings. Remember, just because you feel this way about himdoesn’t mean he’ll return the same favor. The real question is, if there is, or is not, such a thing. Purhaps and surely is my answer. Love has great powerand endurance.
Were Humans Created by Reptilians?
If aliens exist, would they have sex? Could not subscribe, try again laterInvalid Email What happens when a little green man loves a little green woman and decides to have a little green baby? No-one knows, because humans have not yet caught beings from outer space in the act of physical affection. But now a top evolutionary biologist has decided to shed some light on how aliens might make love. Sarah Otto, director of the biodiversity research centre at the University of British Columbia’s Zoology department, told Mirror Online that humans would have to ditch their earthbound preconceptions if they want to understand what sex might look like on another planet.
Our reptilian brain is still doing what it does best, giving us humans what it feels is the best chance to survive! It doesn’t know we’re up in space. It doesn’t know how far we’ve come technologically, culturally, politically, economically.
To begin with, you must be aware of the differences between the conscious mind, which you are familiar with, and the subconscious mind, which you are not familiar with. Below are the inherent differences in layman terms. Briefly, the left side of your brain for most people processes language capability, thinks linearly, and is logical, whereas the right side of your brain is intuitive and senses the whole, rather than parts.
Some experts believe this theory is an over-simplification. Much of the research leading to this theory, at least initially, was obtained from epileptic patients who had the left and right sides of their brains surgically disconnected for medical reasons. In normal people, there is considerable feedback between both sides and, in special cases, one side can acquire the capabilities of the other. We will not use this model in this course. Each is a separate computer with its own special intelligence, subjectivity, sense of time and space, and memory.
For our purposes, it is convenient to combine the first two parts, which are by far the oldest parts the reptilian and mammalian parts and call it the subconscious mind. Thus, the reptilian brain in man is essentially the same as in all reptiles. It is involuntary, impulsive, and compulsive; it contains programmed responses that are rigid. This part of the brain is paranoid for self-preservation. Paranoia is useful for keeping an eye out for enemies or, more to date, for cars when crossing the street.
